WARREN Gatland shrugged off the despair of a heartbreaking series loss to South Africa to demand the Lions be given more preparation time if they are to be successful in Australia in 2025.
The 57-year-old Kiwi, who hinted he may be prepared to take up the head coach’s job again for a fourth time if asked, believes the tourists’ chances of winning in South Africa were again compromised by having less opportunity to train and gel than national squads.
And after seeing his men get beaten 19-16 by a late Morne Steyn penalty in Cape Town to lose the series 2-1, he hit out.
