JAMIE BLAMIRE grew up in the Rugby League heartlands of Cumbria but now loves to scrum and maul – and score tries.
The Newcastle Falcons hooker rounded off his first full season in the Premiership in superb style with two caps and a hattrick on his first Test start in last weekend’s 70-14 win against Canada.
“When I first started playing it was Rugby League, I got into Rugby Union when I was 15 and 16 and my school teacher asked me if I wanted to trial at Union,” he said.
