SAM Simmonds says the Lions tour has allowed him to forget about the heartbreak of a third Premiership final defeat with Exeter Chiefs.
No.8 Simmonds, 26, who scored a Premiership record 21 tries last season, was able to push the pain of last month’s loss to Harlequins to the back of his mind almost immediately.
Just over 24 hours after the final whistle at Twickenham, he was on a plane to South Africa along with Chiefs teammates Stuart Hogg, Jonny Hill and Luke Cowan-Dickie.
