CONOR Murray of Ireland was last night named as Lions captain after Alun Wyn Jones dislocated his shoulder in yesterday’s 28-10 warm-up win against Japan.
Jones will return to Wales, with a replacement yet to be decided.
Lions head coach Warren Gatland has also called up lock Adam Beard and flanker Josh Navidi.
Gatland said the “very best case scenario” for Jones was that the fourtime Lion would be fit for the first Test against the Springboks on July 24.
“He’s going to be gutted,” he added. “He understands the very best scenario is he may get back for the Tests.
