SET against the Covid cruelty suffered by untold millions on a global scale, Gloucester’s inability to fulfill their fixture at Worcester yesterday sounds too trivial for words. Chris Pennell would agree even if it denied the fans on their re-admission to Sixways the chance to salute the most faithful of Warriors.
After 14 years and 253 matches, he deserved a thunderous farewell, all the more so given that loyal one-club men are almost as thin on the ground as straight feeds into the scrum.
