VETERAN flanker Tom Wood says tough times at Northampton can get the Saints marching in again like they did in the title winning days.
The 34-year-old signed a contract extension last week buoyed by the progress the young squad are making under Chris Boyd.
With fifth place in the Premiership, and no playoff spot, confirmed before the last round of games Wood admits this season could have been so much better.
But he says the Saints side that won two cups in 2014 had to suffer near misses and that could be the making of this vintage.
