IRISH’S director of rugby Declan Kidney was unconcerned that another defeat had jeopardised their chances of Champions Cup rugby next season.
He said: “We are not concentrating on a European spot but just trying to hopefully continue to improve.
“When you lose with the last kick, it leaves a bit of numbness and anger.”
London Irish flanker Sean O’Brien said: “We let ourselves down in small areas. However we were unrecognisable from where we’ve been in the last few weeks but ultimately we weren’t strong enough in the breakdown as we got counter-rucked.”
