MONTPELLIER, who stumbled into the business end of the Challenge Cup after losing their two pool games in the Champions Cup, took full advantage to claim some welcome silverware for their sparsely populated trophy cabinet.
Europe has been their only salvation since being promoted to the Top 14 way back in 2003. They won the European Shield in 2004 and this is a second Challenge Cup to put alongside the 2016 trophy. It’s not a huge return for the massive investment of Mohed Alrad but it keeps the dream of big time success alive.
