GLOUCESTER-Hartpury ran out narrow victors over Exeter as the two teams closest to the top four went head-to-head at Sandy Park.
With a semi-final place out of the equation for both teams, this was a battle to determine the best in the west that Gloucester won to finish the season as the only team not to lose to the Chiefs.
The newcomers scored the first try of the match by catching Hartpury sleeping after treatment to an injured player delayed a penalty being taken in the 22.
