DESPITE being second best for most of the match, captain Ben Youngs was heartened by Tigers’ performance.
“It was pretty ferocious out there and I’m unbelievably proud of the effort. We had a game plan to play in the right areas but it didn’t go quite right in the first 15 minutes.
“After that we got in amongst them and were very competitive in the arm-wrestle.
“Steve (Borthwick) is doing a very good job and I don’t think we are far off competing with the best as tonight we had a couple of experienced guys sitting at home with their feet up who would have made a difference.”
