SUPER SUB Hollie Bawden’s intercept try spared Sale Sharks from a share of the points in the battle of the Premier 15s newcomers.
The replacement back struck in the dying seconds as Exeter were punished for trying to attack from deep, with a risky pass in midfield setting Bawden loose to the line.
It was Sale’s fourth win of the season and one they fully deserved as Chiefs gathered little impetus in either half to mount scoring opportunities.
