DAMIAN McKenzie’s ‘golden point’ penalty dramatically secured three straight wins for the Chiefs to keep their Aotearoa final hopes alive.
McKenzie said after the 26-23 away win at Highlanders: “Last year was tough but getting those wins in recent weeks has really given the boys confidence.”
The Chiefs responded well to the midweek news that they will be without injured captain Sam Cane for the remainder of the season.
The match was the first to go to golden point extra time as the sides could not be split after 80 minutes.
