NORTHAMPTON gave their all but it wasn’t enough to see them through to their first European semi-final since 2014 when they won the Challenge Cup competition.
In a thrilling encounter, Northampton battled to the end but the exertion of having to deal with three yellow cards in the first half ultimately told on the brave Saints’ warriors.
Ulster dominated possession and territory but trailed by eight points at the interval despite their opponents spending most of the half with depleted numbers.
