TWO-TRY lock Jonny Hill admitted: “We knew Lyon were going to start fast – and they did! It was important for us to keep going and bounce through that. We’d prepared really well.”
Man-of-the-match Hill, watched from the stands by England boss Eddie Jones who gave him a stop-start Six Nations, added: “It’s great to be back working every day with all my mates.”
While Exeter’s scrum was dominant throughout, boss Rob Baxter readily conceded that the lineout was “shaky at times” but pointed out the difficulties of players returning after weeks away with their countries.
