EXETER back rower Dave Ewers says coming to terms with a lack of home fans has been one the hardest things for players to deal with during the pandemic.
Statistics compiled by The Rugby Paper back-up the perception that home advantage has diminished, with away wins increasing from 34.3 per cent to 46.4 per cent since the initial lockdown last year.
With raucous home supporters unable to apply pressure on referees or encourage their sides, Ewers confirms that away teams have prospered amid the sound of silence.
