Ludlow: It’s been a tough period as captain

 

ROOKIE Gloucester skipper Lewis Ludlow says the sleepless nights will be worthwhile if his side can go on to achieve something special.
Handed a home Champions Cup last 16 against La Rochelle, with a quarterfinal against Scarlets or Sale at Kingsholm as the prize, Ludlow knows his first season as skipper could yet end in glory for the Premiership underachievers.
Ludlow said: “We’ve played La Rochelle before and beaten them, so there’s some confidence there and it’s nice to get these home draws. Hopefully, we can push on a bit in the Premiership before hitting Europe hard in April.
