NORTHAMPTON boss Chris Boyd was relieved his team had managed to post a narrow win after losing out on other close calls over the past year.
“For us, the big plus is that we came under considerable pressure and managed to navigate our way out,” Boyd said. “We’ve lost plenty of those sorts of games over the past 12 months.”
Boyd praised James Grayson, who kicked four penalty goals, for his good marshalling besides his accurate goal-kicking.
Boyd added: “He’s had time out of the group, because he was not getting what he wanted, but he took his opportunity well.”
