IT may have been a long time coming but the 2020/21 Championship should be worth the wait – if Covid plays ball. A short and sharp ten-game regular season, potentially with crowds by the end of it, followed by televised end-of-season playoffs, with promotion to the Premiership at stake, gives English rugby’s second tier a chance to showcase itself as a league where development and drama can go hand-in-hand.
