FIVE of Team GB’s silver medallists from Rio 2016 are included in Tony Roques’ initial training squad for the Tokyo Olympics.
Rio skipper Tom Mitchell, all-time World Series leading try scorer Dan Norton, Dan Bibby, Phil Burgess and Ollie Lyndsay-Hague are among 12 English players in the 21-man squad.
They are joined by six Scots, including 7s captain Robbie Fergusson and Welsh trio Luke Morgan (Ospreys), Luke Treharne and Morgan Williams.
Head coach Roques said: “We’ve picked a squad with a huge amount of experience in successful sevens programmes and everyone is up for the challenge.”
