IT ALL started – in best rugby tradition – with a drinking session. Munster, mindful of the challenge ahead in October, 1978, went on a boozy short tour of London one sweltering weekend in September and managed to get thrashed 33-7 by Middlesex and, still knackered from a bad boys training session organised by coach Tom Kiernan, scraped a 15-15 draw against London Irish. Very average rugby but good bonding.
