Cutting the format could kill Sevens
THOUSANDS of 7s fans like me will be disappointed by yet another move by World Rugby to diminish the format and integrity of the 7s circuit.
In Dubai last week, the Challenge Trophy (formerly the Bowl and Shield) for teams finishing third and fourth in the Pools was scrapped.
These teams now go straight to final playoffs for 9th, 11th, 13th and 15th places.
Even the losing Cup quarter-finalists no longer have a Plate to compete...
