PLYMOUTH Albion are pioneering a new form of schoolboy rugby which they hope will catch on across the country.
Mindful that U18 schoolboys often find their school has insufficient numbers of players to produce a team, Albion have formed Plymouth Albion Colleges.
As long as a pupil is in full-time education in a school or college in Plymouth they can play for the team in the Wednesday’s schools league.
The RFU have accepted the plan and Plymouth Albion Colleges will make their debut on September 25 at Kingston Maurward College.
