TWO OF Welsh rugby’s glittering stars of the 1970’s, Gerald Davies and Tommy David, are the front runners to succeed Dennis Gethin and become the 50th president of the Welsh Rugby Union.
Gethin will leave his position at the end of the World Cup in Japan after 12 years’ service.
The deadline for final presidential applications is tomorrow and prospective candidates need to be nominated by two different WRU member clubs.
An election process will follow in September.
