PREMIERSHIP Rugby has shot down suggestions that its £224m, eight-year deal with the RFU does not represent full value for money after revealing that 73.5 per cent of the players operating in rugby’s top competitions are now England-qualified.
Grassroots clubs and counties suffering from RFU financial cutbacks believe too much of Twickenham’s money goes into the professional game, with Premiership Rugby’s current deal with the Union worth a whopping £28m each season.
