BIT-PART player at the last World Cup, Exeter’s Henry Slade is hoping to make it big in Japan with England when the next tournament gets underway.
Having been overlooked for the first four games in the disastrous home tournament of 2015, Slade made his second international start in the dead rubber against Uruguay, scoring a try in a 60-3 win at the City of Manchester Stadium.
A broken leg ruined any hopes Slade had of building a run of games post-2015 but, in the last 18 months he has nailed down the outside-centre position.
