LUKE Morgan has vowed not to become a Wales one cap wonder and push for a place in Warren Gatland’s Six Nations squad.
Morgan was a surprise call-up for the November series after joining the Ospreys only at the start of this season.
He made his Test debut against Scotland, but struggled to make an impression in a frustrating afternoon and then sat out the wins over Australia, Tonga and South Africa.
The former Wales Sevens star is determined to remain in international contention by letting his regional form do the talking.
“It was lovely to get the cap, but I suppose it wasn’t my day,” the 26-year-old told The Rugby Paper.
“I was a little bit disappointed with myself that I didn’t get as many touches as I could have. Hopefully I will stay in the spotlight with the Ospreys and get another chance.
“The Six Nations is the next target. Once you have got a taste of international rugby you just want more.
Sometimes in games the ball comes your way often as a winger and you can show what you can do like against Zebre last week.”
Morgan showed his class with a hat-trick against Zebre and believes gracing the Test stage can only improve him as a player.
The Wales management have given Morgan pointers on what to work on over the coming weeks and he is confident of meeting those targets.
He said: “I had been with Wales Sevens, but Test rugby was another step-up in intensity.
“I picked up little things and it was a great month there. If someone had said to me at the start of the season I would have had a Wales cap by now I probably wouldn’t have believed them.
“I picked up on a lot of aerial skills and other things, but I will just keep on doing what I have been doing and back myself.”
