Phillips promises cash boost to keep Wales competitive

WELSH rugby’s days of mere financial survival will end with the signing of a landmark deal.
The existing Rugby Services Agreement (RSA) will be replaced this summer by a new document which will bring significant additional revenue into the game.
Martyn Phillips, chief executive of the WRU, told TRP he will raise investment to improve success on and off the field.
It is understood the additional revenue has been generated by commercial deals – for example the £300,000 raised by selling Wales’ summer tour TV rights to Channel 4 – as well as non-rugby events held ...
