LEICESTER head coach Matt O’Connor has issued a stinging rebuke towards critics of George Ford, insisting the under-fire fly-half must be restored as England’s first choice playmaker in South Africa and remain through to the 2019 World Cup.
Ford was dropped for England’s final Six Nations game against Ireland and was then part of a Leicester side that lost at home to Northampton and Newcastle, missing out on the play-offs for the first time since 2004.
