Argentina to host 2019 World Rugby U20 Championship

World have confirmed will host the U20 next year.
Nine years on from when the South American nation last held the competition, 2019 matches will be played in the cities of Rosario and Santa Fe.
“Argentina is a passionate rugby nation and we are impressed with their plans to provide an outstanding environment for teams and a strong legacy programme,” he said.
“We look forward to working in partnership with the Unión Argentina de Rugby to deliver what I am sure will be a very special and successful championship.”
Argentina have placed a heavy emphasis on the Championship’s worth in providing major tournament experience to the next generation of Los Pumas, with 61 players going on to represent the senior national team.
The ongoing U20 Championship in has reached the knockout stage, where Les Tricolores will play for the title on Sunday.
Argentina failed to make it out of the their pool after defeat to England and , but an opportunity to bring the best emerging talents from across the globe to their doorstep gives Argentina reason to be upbeat according to UAR president Marcelo Rodriguez.
“Having the possibility to host the Under-20 Championship 2019 in Rosario and Santa Fe represents for all of us who are part of Argentine rugby, and for the entire region, a great honour, as huge as the responsibility it entails,” the head of Argentina Rugby said.
“The legacy and indelible mark that will be left on those who participate in one way or another, whether in the games, in the organisation and in its development, will be of such importance and magnitude that we will only be able to fully appreciate in the years to come.”
