Scott Williams is set to play his final home game for the Scarlets ahead of their semi-final qualifier against the Cheetahs at Parc y Scarlets on Saturday.
Carmarthen-born Williams has spent his entire career to date associated with the Llanelli side after graduating from the Scarlets’ academy set-up.
Next season Williams will play his rugby on the other side of the Loughor Bridge after signing a three-year deal with Ospreys.
He said his move to the Liberty represented “a new challenge” in what has already been an impressive career for club and country.
But he admits the move has been put to the back of his mind as he focuses on the knock-out games ahead.
“I’m going to go out there and give all I can,” Williams told BBC Sport Wales.
“We’re the defending champions so we’re not going to make it easy for anyone.”
The 27 year-old alluded to the thrashing of Munster in Dublin to win the Pro12 last May as the ultimate achievement of his time with the region.
“I think we would have beaten any team on that final day,” he said.
His fellow players speak of Williams as highly as the fans. His partnership with Hadleigh Parkes has certainly not gone unnoticed for Scarlets and Wales.
“Scotty’s awesome. We get on really well off the field,” said Parkes, who believes they have brought the best out in each other.
Parkes said Williams has been an “awesome servant” and to give him and Scarlets’ other departing players a winning send-off would be “amazing”.
