I’VE been in Peru in the past week undertaking a climb up Macchu Picchu in order to raise money for Velindre Cancer Centre. I climbed many mountains in my career, but this is something else!

While I have been away I have been keeping an eye on my local side Amman United. The boys have had a real tough start to the season winning one game and losing the other two. But I do think that once the lads get used to stepping up a level they will be fine and I’m sure our results will improve the more we play.

I loved my last hurrah at the Principality Stadium last season when we won the Bowl against Caerphilly. Having played there many times in the red of , and for the , winning a trophy at the stadium with my friends for my home town club is something I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.

But it’s going to be really hard to replicate that this season as, with , we will be competing in the Plate competition instead.

Hopefully, we can still do ourselves justice when we kick off against Athletic at home on Saturday, October 7.
