TADHG Beirne is at the centre of a tug of war between the Scarlets and Ireland.
Lock Beirne, 25, was cast adrift by Leinster and moved to Wales in search of regular game time in 2016. He played a starring role for the Scarlets in their PRO12 title success last season, his performances catching the eye of Irish Union bosses.
Munster are looking to bring Beirne back to Ireland for the start of the 2018-19 season, but the Scarlets hope he will stay in Wales beyond the length of his current deal which runs to the end of the upcoming campaign.
