PATRICKLambie will not play rugby again this year because of an on-going concussion issue.
The 26-year-old Sharks and Springbok fly-half has been diagnosed with postconcussion syndrome and has suffered with migraines since a clash of heads in May.
He spent several months recovering from a terrible head clash against Ireland in June last year.
Sharks CEO Gary Teichmann said: “We are in the hands of the medical experts, but it seems unlikely that Pat will play again this year.
“It looks like Pat must take a long rest from rugby.
