JEROMEKaino will undergo knee surgery this week but All Blacks fans have been reassured he should be fit to face the Lions this summer.
The 34-year-old will have surgery on a meniscus tear he sustained while playing for the Blues in Super Rugby two weeks ago.
The 77-Test flanker isn’t expected to return for the Blues until early June with an expected recovery period of four to six weeks being mentioned.
That would give Kaino one or possibly two topflight matches to prove his fitness before the first Test against the Lions in Auckland on June 24.
