EXETER backs coach Ali Hepher believes English players deserve more credit for their skills following a sharp increase in Premiership try-scoring.
Hepher reckons bowling green pitches and the influx of a new breed of young attack coaches willing to take risks have also contributed to a glut of tries.
In 102 top-flight matches so far, Premiership clubs have amassed 529 tries at 5.19 per game – up 11 per cent on last season – and are on course to eclipse the 693 tries achieved in season 2014-15, which featured whipping boys London Welsh.
