Denny Solomona and Manu Tuilagi have been sent home today from England‘s training camp following breaches of the team culture.
While the RFU said they will not be commenting further on the matter, it is understood the pair went out in London on Sunday night and came back in the early hours of Monday morning under the influence of alcohol.
In a statement, Leicester said they were disappointed to learn that Tuilagi had been sent home only two days after making his return to the squad following an injury-wrecked season.
Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor said: “This is particularly disappointing because Manu has worked so hard to get back to fitness after long-term injury and to get back into the England squad.
“This matter has been dealt with by the RFU and we will talk to Manu on his return to the club.”
Solomona’s Director of Rugby at Sale Steve Diamond said: “This is disappointing news because Denny has worked so hard since joining the club last December. He hasn’t had much time off and his performances earned him a place of the recent England tour to Argentina.
“This matter has been dealt with by the RFU and I will speak to Denny on his return to Carrington.”
