Mat Luamanu has been banned for three weeks for the dangerous tackle he made on Sale captain Josh Beaumont on Saturday.
The Harlequins back rower was sent off for the offence and pleaded guilty at a hearing on Monday.
He is free to play again on the 3rd of October.
Jeremy Summers, RFU disciplinary panel chairman said: “”The panel found that this was a reckless act by the player.
“However it was a forceful collision resulting in a concussion being sustained by Josh Beaumont which was taken in to account when finding this a mid-range offence. The player was thereafter given full mitigation reducing this to a three-week ban.”
Meanwhile, Worcester back rower Alafoti Faosiliva will appear before an RFU disciplinary panel this evening following the red card he received last Friday for striking Gloucester lock Mariano Galarza with his elbow.
