Sale Sharks have announced that Mike Haley has signed a new three-year deal with the club.
The 22-year-old full-back started playing his rugby at Preston Grasshoppers as an eight-year-old and made his debut in the LV= Semi Final against Saracens in 2013.
He was picked ahead of Luke Mclean for the Heineken Cup game at the AJ Bell Stadium in October 2014 and has been a virtual ever present since making 57 games for the club in total.
He said: “I’m delighted to sign a new deal at the club. It’s a great environment and with the recent takeover of the club there is a good feeling around the club.
“I am a Preston lad, played all my rugby in the North West, and want to help build the club and reach its full potential.”
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: “Mike is one of the best full backs in the game and for him to sign a three year deal is great news for the club.
“He can go all the way to the top and it’s a statement to clubs out there that we intend to keep hold of our home grown players as we aim to become one of the best clubs in Aviva Premiership Rugby.”
