Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal has revealed that Steffon Armitage wants to leave the club at the end of the season to be able to play for England.
The Toulon flanker, who has one year left in his contract, wants to join a Premiership club, rumoured to be Wasps, in order to be eligible for Eddie Jones‘ squad.
Boudjellal said: “Steffon Armitage came to see me to tell me he had the chance to play with England because Eddie Jones called him.
“He has a contract with us. I could let him go to an English team, but it’s not free. It’s expensive.”
