As revealed by Neil Fissler in The Rugby Paper on April 17, Sale Sharks have secured the signing of Mike Phillips ahead of next season.
The Welsh international scrum-half started his career at Scarlets at the age of 20 and then moved to Cardiff Blues, Ospreys and Bayonne before joining Racing 92.
He has won 94 caps for Wales and also played 5 Tests for the British and Irish Lions.
The 33-year-old will be a direct replacement for Chris Cusiter who, also revealed by Neil Fissler, will retire at the end of the season and move the California to look after his whisky business.
Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond said: “Mike will fit perfectly into our plans here at Sale Sharks. He is a big, powerful and very skilful player and has plenty of experience playing at the top level of the game.
“Mike will be one of three ex Racing 92 players at the club next season alongside Brian Mujati and Juandre Kruger.”
