Owen Farrell will start at inside centre for England against Scotland in the first round of the Six Nations on Saturday.
The Saracens fly-half has been named in midfield by new head coach Eddie Jones with George Ford at fly-half and Jonathan Joseph at outside centre.
Dylan Hartley will captain a side that has 512 Test caps between them while Jack Clifford, Paul Hill and Ollie Devoto could make their debuts from the bench.
Courtney Lawes has overcome his hamstring niggle but will start on the bench as George Kruis and Joe Launchbury are named at lock.
Joe Marler and Dan Cole are either side of Hartley in the front row while former captain Chris Robshaw will, as expected, start at blindside with James Haskell at openside and Billy Vunipola at No.8.
Danny Care gets the nod ahead of Ben Youngs at scrum-half and the back-three is formed of Mike Brown in the No.15 shirt and Jack Nowell and Anthony Watson on the wings.
“There were some tight calls on selection, but we have picked a match-day squad with a blend of experience and youth,” said Jones.
“The boys have worked hard since coming into camp to understand how I want the team to play going forward. We have prepared well and I am pleased with the progress the group has made in the short time we’ve had together.
“We are indebted to the work Stuart Lancaster has done over the last four years. I have inherited a talented and highly motivated group of players.
“We are confident we can go to Edinburgh and win, but we’re in no doubt it will be a huge challenge. Playing at Murrayfield in front of a passionate Scottish crowd will be a real test for this team but one I know we can rise to.”
