Saracens have confirmed that Chris Ashton will be appealing the ten-week suspension he received last week.
The winger was found guilty of making contact with the eye or eye area of Ulster centre Luke Marshall in the Champions Cup between the two sides two weeks ago.
Ashton, who pleaded not guilty to the offence, is now waiting for the date of his hearing and will be hoping his ban is either reduced or dismissed in order to complete his international comeback.
Ashton had been named in the Eddie Jones‘ initial 33-man England squad for the Six Nations but he was replaced by Bath wing Semesa Rokoduguni in the aftermath of his ban.
