Cory Allen scored a first-half hat-trick as opened their account with a 54-9 win over at the Millennium yesterday.
The centre was joined on the scoresheet by -half Gareth Davies, who scored a brace, Sansom Lee, Hallam Hamos and Justin Tipuric while Rhys Priestland converted seven of the eight conversions from the tee.
It was Uruguay who got on the scoreboard first however as two penalties from Felipe Bierchesi put them 6-0 in front after eight minutes.
But Lee’s try and Priestland’s conversion put Wales in front and they never looked back with Allen’s hat-trick made it 28-9 at the break.
It was more of the same in the second half with Amos and Tipuric going over either side of Davies’ brace.
But the party was spoilt by injuries as an already depleted Welsh outfit lost Allen to an hamstring tear while full-back Liam Williams limped off after a heavy blow to his thigh.
Props Paul James and Samson Lee suffered calf injuries with a third prop, Aaron Jarvis, popped a rib cartilage.
Dan Lydiate had concussion checks and to make things worse captain finished the game with a tight groin.
