Sale Sharks have announced the signings of Cameron Shepherd and Corne Uys.
Shepherd, 28, has played for the Waratahs and Western Force and also has nine caps for Australia.
The signing of the Australian fullback comes after he failed to secure a contract with Northampton Saints following concerns over his fitness.
Uys, 30, has joined from Newcastle Falcons and will play at outside centre. He moved to Kingston Park from Free State Cheetahs in October last year.
Regarding Shepherd’s signing Chief Executive Steve Diamond said, “It’s a pleasure to have Cameron on board. He’s an experienced back three player who adds to our strength in depth. We realised that he was available and decided to invite him to Sale Sharks to train with us.”
On Uys’s arrival, Head Coach Bryan Redpath added, “Corne will give us extra cover as a specialist thirteen and will work with Will Addison. He has Premiership experience, possesses a sound skill set and is very knowledgeable.”
