Scotland show faith in Vern Cotter

Vern Cotter has re-affirmed his position as head-coach and extended his contract for another year until 2017.
The Kiwi, who is currently preparing the national side for their first warm-up clash with in Dublin on Saturday, has added an extra year his deal, which was due to end after next year’s .
The 53 year-old led the Scots to five wins out of seven over their and last year before a disappointing Six Nations earlier this year which saw the team lose all five games.
He said: “I’m really happy to be able to continue working with the players, the organisation, the Board, and everyone involved.
“There are some talented players with some things to develop, and together we are focused on facing that challenge in what I think are exciting times for Scottish all over.”
SRU chief executive Mark Dodson added: “I am very pleased we will be extending Vern’s role as Scotland Head Coach for a further year.
“When we recruited him he was the outstanding candidate for the role and that view has not changed.”
Cotter will tomorrow name the team to play Ireland, the first of four tests before the World Cup, with their opening fixture on September 23. Scotland are in Pool B with , the United States, and .
