Danny Cipriani will be available to play for England in the World Cup after being re-bailed until November following his arrest in June.
The Sale flay-half, 27, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after an early-morning car crash in London only a few hours after his man-of-the-match display against the Barbarians at Twickenham.
A police spokesman has confirmed that Cipriani has been re-bailed until mid-November pending further inquiries.
As a result, Cipriani will be available for England’s World Cup campaign, with the tournament ending on October 31.
England head coach Stuart Lancaster had previously said he was waiting on the outcome of the police investigation before taking any action over Cipriani.
He will now have to battle it out with George Ford, Owen Farrell and potentially Henry Slade for a spot in the 31-man squad that will be named later this month.
