Yorkshire Carnegie have agreed a two-year contract with Sale Sharks centre Andy Forsyth from the start of the 2015-16 Greene King IPA Championship.
The move will be a chance for the Huddersfield-born to come home to his former club, having originally started in the Carnegie Academy before a move to Leicester Tigers, where he won the LV= Cup in 2012.
The 24-year-old has spent the last two seasons at Sale Sharks, making 24 appearances in all competitions, where he worked with Yorkshire Carnegie Head Coach Bryan Redpath during his time.
He said: “I am really looking forward to being back at the club having spent my junior years at Headingley Carnegie.
“I know the Championship will be a tough competition next year and a lot of the clubs have been recruiting heavily during the close season.
“However, I was impressed with the ambition Yorkshire has shown and there is a desire at all levels for the club to get stronger and stronger over the coming years.
“I am looking forward to working with Bryan again and there is a lot of excitement around Yorkshire Carnegie at present.
“Our challenge as a squad is to make sure that positive attitude is translated onto the pitch and that is something that I also find exciting.”
Yorkshire Carnegie Director of Rugby Chris Gibson added: “We are very pleased to have signed Andy and brought him back home to Yorkshire Carnegie.
“He is a player with potential but also someone who has already gained a lot of experience of Premiership and European rugby despite still only being 24.
“He will add to the options we already have in our backline and was someone we identified early as a target for next season.”
