As revealed by Jon Newcombe last Sunday, Andy Saull has signed for Yorkshire Carnegie for the season ahead.
The flanker will move to leave after two seasons spent at the Newcastle Falcons.
He said: “I have enjoyed my time at Newcastle Falcons, they are a great group of guys and I have made many lifelong friends. There are still three games left and I’m looking forward to ending my time at the club on a high.
“There are a few players I know in the Yorkshire Carnegie team, such as James Fitzpatrick and Chris Pilgrim from Newcastle, so it will be good to work alongside them again. I’m looking forward to the challenge in Yorkshire and to helping them achieve their ambitions and their vision of getting back into the Aviva Premiership.”
Yorkshire Carnegie Head Coach Bryan Redpath added: “Andy is a quality player who I have admired for a long time and I am delighted that he has agreed to join Yorkshire Carnegie. He has great leadership qualities and is an outright flanker and will provide good competition within our squad and I am looking forward to working with him next season.”
Falcons Director of Rugby Dean Richards said: “Andy has been a key part of our squad for the last two years and we’re grateful for his efforts at Newcastle Falcons both on and off the field.
“I’m delighted for Andy about this move, which will give him a great opportunity to play a lot of first team rugby, and wish him all of the best for the future.”
