Tom Cruse to join London Irish

Rotherham Titans have today confirmed that hooker Tom Cruse will next season.
Cruse, 26, who will play his 50th game for the Titans on Saturday against Doncaster, has been the stand-out hooker in the league for the past two seasons and was named in the The Paper’s in 2014.
He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at and am grateful for the opportunities they have given me. The chance to sign for London Irish and play in the Aviva is something I have worked hard to achieve. There is a lot of excitement around London Irish at the moment and I’m looking forward to getting started when I join in the summer. Until then my sole focus is on leaving Rotherham Titans on a high.”
London Irish Operations Director Bob Casey added: “Tom has been an emerging talent in the for a number of years so we are delighted that he has signed for us. He has a strong set piece and is dynamic around the park. He is ambitious, the right age and a player who wants to be part of London Irish’s plans and we look forward to welcoming him in to the London Irish family in the summer.”
Titans head coach Lee Blackett said: “Tom has worked extremely hard and he massively deserves this opportunity. Over the last two years he’s proved to be one of the best hookers in the division, if not the best.
“We’ve known that Premiership clubs have wanted him as we’ve had a number of enquires about him throughout the year. We’re massively happy for him because he deserves this opportunity, but saddened that he’ll be leaving us at the end of the season.”
