As revealed by Jon Newcombe in The Rugby Paper on February 8, Newcastle Falcons have bolstered their front row stocks for next season in the shape of highly rated prop Ben Harris from Yorkshire Carnegie.
The 25-year-old started his career at Rotherham before moving to Leeds during the 2012-13 season.
He will join up with the Falcons during the summer at the start of a two year deal at Kingston Park.
He said: “I spoke to Dean and there is a really good vision and a really good plan in place for the next few years, there are some quality coaches and a really good squad that already has fantastic players there. I want to go up and learn as much as I can and test myself at the top end of the game.”
Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards added: “Ben is a very well regarded young prop who has been being watched by a number of clubs after impressing in the Championship and I am pleased that he will be making his way to us for next season.” “He will add to our prop options and will complement and enhance the talent pool we already have in that position.”
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Yorkshire, where I’ve played with some good players and again I’ve worked with some fantastic coaches, who have really helped me to come along and who I owe a lot of thanks to for improving me as a player.”
